Administration Assistant – Maternity Cover
Location: Crewe, Cheshire
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–16:30, including a 30-minute paid break
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract – Maternity Cover
Contract End Date: 1 October 2027
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, organised and motivated Administration Assistant to join our busy team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.
This is a varied administrative role, providing day-to-day support across the business. The successful candidate will be confident using a computer, have excellent attention to detail and be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
You will work closely with colleagues across the business, supporting general administration, recruitment activities, company record keeping and internal communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-daygeneral administrative support to the office and wider business.
- Answering incoming telephone calls, dealing with enquiries professionally and directing calls to the appropriate person or department.
- Supporting the recruitment process, including screening CVs, assisting with candidate administration and maintaining accurate recruitment paperwork.
- Scanning, uploading, filing and organising documents, ensuring information is stored accurately and can be easily accessed when required.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date company records, databases, spreadsheets and electronic filing systems.
- Preparing and sending company-wide emails and internal communications as required.
- Monitoring shared inboxes and ensuring enquiries and correspondence are dealt with or passed to the appropriate member of the team.
- Using Microsoft Office and other company systems to update information and complete administrative tasks.
- Assisting with the preparation of reports, documents and other business paperwork.
- Handling confidential company, employee and candidate information appropriately and maintaining a high level of discretion.
- Providing administrative support to colleagues and assisting with projects and other business requirements as required.
- Carrying out any other reasonable administrative duties required to support the smooth running of the office.

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- PC literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Confident communicating with colleagues, candidates and members of the public.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.
- Able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Professional, approachable and reliable.
- Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Willing to learn new systems and processes.
Experience
Previous administration or office experience is desirable but not essential.
Previous experience within administration team would be advantageous. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

- 28 days’ annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays
- Christmas Day and bank holidays are not additional days off and must be covered using annual leave entitlement where the employee wishes to take these days off
- The Christmas period remains a working period, subject to the company’s annual leave arrangements
